Interviewyoddha: frequently asked questions

Interview Coach

How is the live mock interview different from ChatGPT?

It behaves like a panel from the company you chose: one question at a time, a score and specific fixes after every answer, follow-up questions when an answer is thin, and a hire / no-hire scorecard at the end. It uses your resume, so the questions are about your projects. You can speak your answers with the mic.

Does it know Amazon's Leadership Principles?

Yes. For Amazon, every behavioural question names the Leadership Principle it tests, model answers are built around it, and the mock interview scores you the way a bar raiser would probe: depth, data and ownership.

Can it help with system design rounds?

Yes. Choose 'System design'. You get the likely problems for your level and company (e.g. payments and UPI flows at Razorpay or PhonePe, high-traffic sales at Flipkart) and the structure to follow: requirements, estimates, APIs, data model, design and trade-offs. The mock interview runs it as a conversation.

Does it run my code?

No. For coding rounds it focuses on what interviewers grade beyond the code: clarifying questions, explaining your approach, complexity and trade-offs. Practise writing code on a coding platform alongside it.

Is this the company's official question bank?

No. It's based on what candidates publicly report about each company's process, applied to your resume and level. Read your interview invitation for the exact format.

Can I use it for PM, data science or consulting interviews?

Yes. Pick the role and the round (product sense, case interview, behavioural…). Case interviews follow the structure-math-synthesis format top consulting firms use.

How much does it cost?

Every day you get one free result and a free mock interview session to try it. A 30-day pass with unlimited questions, story banks and mock interviews (fair use) is ₹299 / $7; a 1-year pass is ₹1,799 / $41. It's a one-time payment, not a subscription, so there's nothing to cancel. The story bank and STAR checker on this page are always free.

What is a story bank and why do I need one?

A story bank is 8-10 real stories from your work, each written in STAR form (situation, task, action, result) and mapped to the competencies the company grades. At Amazon each interviewer usually covers different Leadership Principles, so you need several distinct stories rather than one great one. Use the free story bank on this page to see your gaps, then pick 'Build my story bank' to turn your resume into STAR outlines.

Will it make up experience for me?

No. Answers and stories use only what you give it. Where a story needs a number or a detail you didn't provide, you see a placeholder like [add the result] to fill in honestly. Interviewers at these companies probe every claim with follow-ups, so invented details usually fall apart.

Is it useful for TCS, Infosys or mass-hiring drives?

It's built for interviews at Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, top Indian product companies, finance and consulting, where rounds go deep on your own projects. It can still help with any behavioural interview, but the company styles and system design depth are tuned for those panels.
